The new SSA SWE Data Centre, hosted at the ESA Redu station, is increasingly taking shape. Key elements of the ground segment infrastructure for the SWE system have been developed, such as the systems for the physical and virtual servers, network capabilities, storage units and their setups and configurations. This goes hand in hand with the development of the SWE Database extending the SWENET database and the SWE Web portal functionality (http://swe.ssa.esa.int). A number of key developments are currently in testing and will be deployed via the portal in the very near future.

The aim of this splinter is to present the current status of the SWE Data Centre elements to the SWE community and take the advantage of the gathering to ask for feedback on the recent and coming development steps. Ample time will be reserved for discussion on the SWE data model, the access and utilisation of the SWE Web portal by the SWE community and how to explore the SWE data and services provided.
