Horizon2020 TechTIDE project

The project provides Open access codes, real-time data and products for the identification of Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances.

Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances (TIDs) constitute a threat for operational systems using predictable ionospheric characteristics as they can impose significant disturbances in the ambient electron density and Doppler frequency shifts on HF signals. The TechTIDE project, funded by the European Commission HORIZON 2020 Programme aims at delivering for the first time data, products and services in real-time, capable of detecting the occurrence of TIDs over specific regions. The TID detection methodologies are based on the analysis of Digisonde, GNSS and Doppler Sounding data.
In the ESWW 2019 Fair, we demonstrate the open access codes developed by the TechTIDE partners for the identification of TIDs, and the data and products released in real-time by the TechTIDE warning system at http://tech-tide.eu, for detection of both Medium and Large Scale TIDs.
