Venue
The school will take place in the Arenberg Campus Library (Nicolas de le Ville room and Petrus Celestius room) of the KULeuven:
Willem de Croylaan 6, 3001 Leuven (Heverlee), Belgium.
The Arenberg campus is located just outside the city center of Leuven. It is the university's campus for science and engineering.
The venue can easily be reached by public transportation from most hotels in the city center. An alternative from some hotels is a nice 30 minutes walk through the center and a park area.
Reaching the venue by bus
The best way to go from the railway station of Leuven or the hotels in the city center to the conference site is by bus. You should take bus number 2, direction "CAMPUS HEVERLEE". Please make sure that it says "CAMPUS" since otherwise you'll be travelling in the wrong direction. This bus leaves from platform 6 at the railway station in Leuven about every 10 minutes. Bus number 2 passes through the city center and terminates on campus. The best place to get off the bus is the first stop on the Celestijnenlaan (the stop called "Heverlee Campus Arenberg II"), and can be easily recognized as the first stop after passing in front of the Arenberg Castle. The travel time from the railway station to these stops is 20 minutes according to the schedule, but can be significantly more during rush hour.
Tickets are sold on the bus (€ 2 / trip), but it is cheaper to buy a 10-ride ticket in advance in a shop of De lijn in between the railway and the bus station or in a newspaper shop or a one-ride ticket from the ticket machine at the bus station. These tickets are valid anywhere in Flanders and can be shared with other people as well.
Reaching the venue by car
Via highway E314 (A2)
Take exit Leuven (nr. 15). At the third traffic lights, turn right into Celestijnenlaan. At your left side, you will notice the entrance of the Castle park. Follow the signs which will direct you to the parking area.
Via highway E40 (from Brussels or Liège)
From the highway E40 take exit Leuven. This takes you onto the highway E314 (A2). Immediately take exit Leuven (nr. 15). Continue as above.
Car navigation systems
Pointing your car navigation system to "Celestijnenlaan 300, Heverlee" (or Leuven if your system doesn't know Heverlee) is a safe choice and will bring you very close to the conference venue. There is sufficient (free) parking on campus.
