Feature Tracking Applications in Meterology and Space Weather,
Dr K. Hodges - University Reading
March 04, 2010
The ability to identify and follow moving structures in geophysical data, such as weather systems in meteorological
data, allows a much more detailed analysis of the properties of these systems including their distribution and
physical characteristics. Methods for performing such analysis will be discussed and results from applications
in meteorology will be presented. A proposed application in space-weather (tracking of polar-cap plasma patches)
will be discussed.
