On February 6, the finales of the 'Battle of the Scientists' took place. Finalist Cis Verbeeck of the Royal Observatory of Belgium, explained how to predict a super solar storm to an audience of children between 6 and 12 years: 500 onsite and 2100 online.
The energy release during the finals was in the order of an extreme solar flare, accompanied by a solar plasma cloud of olympic speed and a major particle storm.
