Tutorial - SunPy

SunPy is a community-developed free and open-source software package for solar physics. It is based on the program language Python.

Danny Ryan, a solar physicist and an active member of the SunPy community, will guide you through the world of SunPy.

For the people wanting to follow interactively the tutorial, Danny is recommending to install everything before the tutorial.

IInstallation Instructions

The recommended way to install Python and the various scientific Python packages is to install the Miniconda distribution.  Installation instructions are available for Windows, Mac and Linux: https://docs.conda.io/projects/conda/en/latest/user-guide/install/index.html , the "Regular Installation" is recommended.

Once that's installed, sunpy and all its dependencies can be installed via the instructions on the sunpy website: https://docs.sunpy.org/en/stable/guide/installation/index.html

If you need help, please go to the sunpy chat room: https://openastronomy.element.io/#/room/#sunpy:openastronomy.org
