ESWW14 will take place at the conference site 'Kursaal' in Ostend. Ostend is situated at the Belgian coast and is easy to reach from Brussels airport. The Kursaal, Monacoplein, 8400 Ostend, Belgium, is a cultural centre hosting a casino.

From Brussels Airport to Ostend by train
You can reach the railway station without leaving the airport. Follow the signs.
Use the search tool on the Belgian Railways website. Fill in : From "Brussel-Nat-Luchthaven" To "Oostende", choose the date.


For those of you that plan to come to Ostend by train, please be aware that there are important railroad works planned in the weekends before and after the conference.

On November 25 and 26, the trains to Ostend will follow their normal trajectory but with an adapted time schedule. This will likely cause delays.

On December 2 and 3, there will be no trains leaving from Ostend to Brussels. Instead, you can take a shuttle bus at the Ostend train station which will bring you to the station of Bruges. From there you can take the train to Brussels Airport or any other destination of your choosing.

Also the station of Ostend itself is under construction, but apart from catching some dust, this should not hamper your travels.

  • The railway station at Brussels International Airport is located in the basement (level -1).
  • A standard ticket (single, adult, second class, no reduction) costs 24,80EUR.
  • Tickets can be bought online or directly in the railway station. You can also buy a ticket on the train itself, but this will cost you 7EUR extra.
