Tuesday 6/11, 17:15-18:30
MTC 00.15, Small lecture room

The three environments studied by ESA's Topical Team SALE "Spacecraft, Aircraft and Launcher Environments" respond individually in a number of characteristic ways to the disturbances stimulated by Space Weather. Our Working Meeting this year will be divided into three parts, each introduced by a well known expert on the influence of Space Weather on one of these environments. The session will then be open to the audience to suggest strategies to mitigate against deleterious Space Weather effects. Of particular interest will be situations where the underlying science needs to be further explored experimentally or theoretically to enable an effective strategy to be implemented.

The ultimate aim is to prepare a paper for the Journal of Space Weather and Space Climate on the influence of Space Weather on SALE environments and how to mitigate against consequent detrimental effects. . Members of the audience are cordially invited to contribute to the authorship of this paper which will be subject to journal refereeing in the usual way prior to being accepted for publication.
