Topical Discussion Meeting - What does Space Weather need from Space Science?

Johan De Keyser (Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy); Iannis Dandouras (IRAP Toulouse)
Friday 9/11, 14:00-15:15
MTC 00.10, Large lecture room

Space Weather is an applied science. One of the fundamental science disciplines by which it is driven is Space Science. The goal of this Topical Discussion Meeting is to identify specific space science subject areas in which Space Weather actors presently experience a lack of knowledge, or expect that space weather applications will soon become hampered because of a lack of physical understanding. Any suggestions as to how such gaps in our knowledge can be filled in - in terms of theory, observations, or models - are also welcome.

The inputs gathered during this topical discussion meeting will feed into an exercise for drafting a roadmap for space science in Europe for the coming decades.
